Quantum Public Relations provides PR and marketing services to clients across Kent and the South East. Established in 2005, we have an unrivalled reputation and track record in corporate communication, planning communications and marketing.
We provide PR and marketing communications services to organisations across the UK. We also support international organisations seeking to develop their UK presence. Our team of consultants comes from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience, covering PR, journalism, event management, public affairs, internal communications and graphic and web design. Each brings different skills sets into the agency.
What we all have in common is experience within our specialist markets and a clear understanding of how to communicate complex, technical and occasionally difficult messages. From sustainable manufacturing and property development to solar planning and resource recovery, our team understands the commercial and legislative landscape that drive these important sectors.
One of the key differentials that separates Quantum from its competitors is our integrated approach to communications. With an in-house graphics team and experts in all fields of communications, we develop communications strategies that suit our clients' business needs – not our own.
Senior Management Team
Charlie Vavasour - Managing Director
Charlie has more than 20 years experience of communications issues and has worked across a number of industry sectors. A Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), he has a BA Honours Degree in Politics and Business from Oxford Brookes University, and a Diploma in Public Relations.
He cut his teeth in public affairs and political lobbying before moving into PR and marketing. He has gained significant experience of public sector communications, while working across specific private sector clients. Following a management buy-out in 2006 he launched Quantum Public Relations, and has overseen the growth of the agency as it entered the UK's top 150 list.
Charlie specialises in crisis communications and has offered advice, support and media relations guidance to a variety of sectors. Many of the crises that Charlie deals with had the potential to be highly controversial but did not get widely reported thanks to the planning and assistance he offered. In cases where quashing media interest has been impossible, Charlie’s expert reputation management has ensured that key stakeholders are communicated with effectively, limiting damage and helping to rebuild and restore stakeholders’ faith in the future.
Away from the office Charlie's main passion is rugby union, coaching the Ashford Rugby Club under 12s team, chairing the local club's management committee and (occasionally) venturing out to play in veteran's tournaments. He is also a Trustee of the Ashford Leisure Trust.
Robin Treacher - Associate Director
Robin is a Quantum returner who was instrumental in setting up the agency. Previously called DTW South, Robin sold Quantum PR to a management buy-out in 2006 and left to work as the European Director of Communications for a well-known energy company. A return to heath following serious illness that forced him to retire in 2011, Robin has now returned to his old Ashford office as Associate Director.
As a qualified journalist with several years’ in-house local government public relations experience, Robin built a reputation as a PR consultant and chaired the CIPR’s local government sector group. He was recognised for his work with a Fellowship in 2005.
Many people know him as the man who put them through their paces in readiness for difficult media interviews; others for the way he directed public consultation campaigns when controversial planning applications were being prepared. His PR experience in the waste industry is unparalleled.
Robin was elected as a Parish Councillor in 2015, and now chairs his local parish council outside Canterbury, Kent.
David Massingham - Associate Director
David has over 25 years' experience in planning policy development and implementation and in major development planning projects. In recent years he has focused specifically on effective public and stakeholder engagement for large-scale master planning and development projects. His experience as a qualified planner as well as a highly experienced political analyst means that he is able to bring a unique perspective to understanding the political drivers behind key planning decisions.
David has worked with Quantum since day one, on a wide range of development projects and brings a keen political eye and unrivalled knowledge.
David has been a keen cyclist from an early age, enjoying (very) modest success in road and track racing in the UK and in Europe. He has lived and cycled in London for some 30 years, and averages around 4000km by bike on the city's roads each year.
Craig Francis - Studio Manager
Craig developed his creative design skills at the Institute of Financial Services before joining Quantum and rising through the ranks to be promoted to Studio Manager. He’s responsible for managing all creative output to ensure the very best quality in design for our clients.
Throughout his career Craig has worked across all types of media including print, exhibition, promotional items and digital media, and he passionately believes that good design is core to effective communication. He knows that attention to detail is as important to the finished result as creative thought, and he expertly combines the two on behalf of clients.
He has successfully branded many companies, organisations and events and is an expert web developer. His designs are always eye-catching, effective and relevant to the client and his creative input has been the key factor in many successful campaigns.
Craig's talents do not just rest in the design studio. He is a regular on the Kent music scene playing his guitar and singing at gigs across the county, building himself a loyal following and a strong reputation.
Sananur Meric - Senior Account Manager
Sananur has built a flourishing career in PR since graduating with a BA Hons degree in Media and Cultural Studies with English and entering the world of communications.
At Quantum she has worked on a large number of key B2B and B2C accounts including those from the environmental, energy, financial and health and beauty sectors.
Sananur personifies her job title as she manages numerous accounts and takes responsibility for delivering on the client's behalf. A stickler for detail she uses her extraordinary organisational skills to manage fully integrated campaigns, ensuring that deadlines are always met and that monitoring and evaluation is in place. She specialises in community relations, event management and marketing communications.
When not delivering for her clients, Sananur is a cat-lover and can often be found making a fuss of her two feline-friends. She also enjoys cooking for her friends and family, and has been known to produce delicious Turkish-inspired dishes.
Michael Taylor - Account Manager
Michael has a BSc Hons degree in Politics and six years' PR agency experience. During this time he has managed accounts for a wide variety of B2B and B2C clients including in the renewable energy, infrastructure and construction industries.
Michael began his PR career as an Account Executive at Quantum, before taking on a more senior role at one of Europe’s leading automotive PR agencies, implementing national and international campaigns, corporate communications strategies and product launches for leading global automotive manufacturers. He has now returned to Quantum to further his career, bringing with him fresh and creative ideas that help take Quantum’s campaigns to the next level.
Michael specialises in media relations and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the most effective strategies are put in place to engage with clients’ target audiences. He is also an excellent copywriter and is an expert in producing SEO-friendly web copy.
In his spare time Michael enjoys cooking, regularly making up recipes from a diverse assortment of ingredients, with varying degrees of success. He is an avid video gamer and enjoys long country walks with his wife and son at the weekends (provided there are adequate facilities en route for an obligatory pint and pub lunch!)
Beverley Southern - Account Executive
Beverley joined Quantum in July 2015 as an apprentice, and was awarded a Level 4 Diploma in Public Relations through the PRCA in October 2016.
Working alongside members of the team, Beverley has supported clients on a variety of campaigns and has been involved in a number of external and internal marketing projects. With a specialism in social and digital media, Beverley has helped clients to boost their online following while ensuring output focuses on their key messages.
In her spare time, Beverley runs her own blog, which she uses to discuss topics she is passionate about, including mental health and equality, which she hopes will help to reduce stigma and raise awareness.
